The Centre, which he described as first rate and world class comprehensive heart diagnostic, would be constructed to immortalise the late Gani, in Ondo Town.
Mimiko, stated this, at this year’s edition of the annual Ekimogun Day held at Oba Adesanoye Civic Centre in Ondo Town, Ondo State, pledging to the people that the mother/children hospital would also be built in the community.
He said the Ondo Kingdom would benefit from the masses-centred and people oriented development programmes that were community-specific and catalytic to industrial growth.
According to him, “works are again underway to open up our communities through a network of intra-city roads.
“Just as in Akure where is an on-going expansion and dualisation of Oba Adesida road from FUTA to the airport through Oba-Ile, the road from Ita-Nla junction through Yaba will be expanded and dualised to accommodate the explosion in human and vehicular traffic.”
The governor, who was presented the 2009 Ekimogun Merit Award, said his government was ready to partner with the private sector on developing engineering and information technology.
Mimiko, added that a proposed Technology Village [TECH-VILL], a product of a Public Private Partnership [PPP] initiative between the state government and a foreign-based Ondo-indigene would soon be established.
He also said the technological innovation and software designs, which would serve as the bedrock, would be sited in Ondo West and it would provide a support base for the take-off of information-technology related businesses
Mimiko, who is an indigene of the town, said his administration was partnering with 80 communities in three local governments of Ifedore, Owo and Odigbo on a pilot scale to address infrastructure needs.
Commending the governor, the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo, urged all Ondo Sons and Daughters to support the effort of the state government to give a meaningful life to the people.
Oba Kiladejo opined that it was wrong for any community leader to allow his subjects to be in opposition against the government as a result of differences in political and affiliation.
