Mimiko represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Lawrence Adeola Adegbenro noted the dearth of medical personnel in the state, adding that the government would leave no stone unturned to ensure the masses have access to good health care.

He charged the medical professionals to brace up and face the challenges in the health sector, urging them to work harder in order to earn the respect of the people.

Addressing the press, the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Chairman, Dr M. A. Adeyeri called for a concerted effort between the government and the medical personnel to curb the high rate of maternal mortality.

Blaming the problem on poor infrstructure in hospitals, he advised mothers to always visit the hospitals during pregnancy.
