Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, has ordered Area Commanders and their respective Divisional Police Officers (DPO), to beef up security within their area of responsibility in order to ensure a crime free Yulitide season.
Previous statistics had shown that there is usually an upsurge in crime during festive period the metropolis.
Following the Lagos Police boss directive, policemen at Ipaja carried out series of raids on some criminal hideouts in the area.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Baal Elkana, said that at about 4.30pm, a team of Policemen from Ipaja Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Tokumbo Abaniwonda arrested one Emmanuel Daniel ‘m’ 30 years.
He said one locally made pistol with one live ammunition and one expended ammunition were recovered from the susoect.
“He was arrested while attempting to snatch a bag from a woman at boys town ipaja. He confessed to the crime. The suspect will be charged to court at the end of investigatiom” he added.
