Some suspected gunmen have killed one person and abducted a businessman in Hukuyi, Kudan Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Reports said the gunmen invaded Kofar Arewa of Hunkuyi area, shooting sporadically before killing one person and abducting a popular businessman in the area.
A resident of the area who craves anonymity due to security concerns said, “the suspected bandits arrived in the area around 12.30am Wednesday and started shooting in the air, thereby killing one Aminu Shehu and proceeded to abduct a popular businessman, Alhaji Shehu Dakin.
“His family has revealed that the bandits have called through the abducted businessman’s mobile phone and demanded a ransom of one hundred million naira,” he said.

Investigations revealed that this was the first time the area was witnessing any act of banditry.
Efforts to get a response from Mansur Hassan, Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, were not successful as his mobile phone could not be reached at the time of filing this report.
