This is as result of the challenges of the hall where the sittings would be taking place at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja.
Daily Trust observed that there was only one microphone being circulated to the 492 delegates during yesterdays’ inaugural session of the conference.
Unlike the normal conference halls where every seat is provided with a microphone, this NJI conference hall has no such facility.
This reporter saw a staff of the event management firm running from one corner to the other with a microphone, whenever a delegate was called on to speak.
But when this issue was raised, the secretary of the confab Valarie Azinge said that that venue “was the best they could get in Abuja.”
She said they thoroughly searched for a venue but found no suitable one. She said the International Conference Centre has been occupied.
“We looked around all over Abuja and realized that the NJI is the best. The ICC has been occupied. Presently, the ECOWAS parliament is using that facility now,” Azinge said.
But she said that microphones would be stationed in strategic places in the hall where delegates would move to make their points.
