Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Wale Ojo-Lanre, said in a statement that Governor Oni, while playing host to some top functionaries of the telecommunications company led by its Director for Western Region, Mr Adeniyi Olukoya, in his office at Ado Ekiti, applauded the telecommunications giant for its contributions to the Nigerian economy.

He noted that there is need for the company to expand its network base in the state to ensure more residents enjoy its services.

He explained that the state government has a dream to make  telephony accessible to everyone through partnership with the existing telecommunications industries, stressing that the company should take hold of the advantages as an indigenous firm by aggressively pursuing the dominance of the existing markets in the state.

“I want to say that we have enjoyed a very cordial relationship with Glo and we have continued to see the company as a part of the Nigerian dream of excellence. We see in Glo an opportunity for a Nigerian business to become truly international,” Oni said.

Earlier, Mr Olukoya had stated the readiness of the company to give recharge – free mobile packs to all senior civil servants in the state to ensure there was communication among government workers at no cost.
