Only 17% of N4.1billion budget released for Kaduna health ministry in 6months

Only N727.1 million representing 17 percent was released between January and June, 2017 out of the N4.158billion approved for the Kaduna state ministry of health.

This was contained in the Kaduna state health budget performance scorecard from January to June, 2017 presented today by the Kaduna State MNCH Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM).

According to the scorecard, the Drugs Management Agency got a release of N259.9million out of the approved N1.161billion while the Primary Health Care Development Agency got a release of N901.3million out of N4.276billion approved for the year.

While the Kaduna State AIDs Control Agency got a release of N2.5million (0.61%) out of the approved N409.3million; there was no release for the College of Nursing and Midwifery Kafanchan out of the N179.6million approved budget.

Similarly, the College of MIdwifery, Kaduna got a release of N8million out of N118.1million approved while the Shehu Idris College of Health Science got a release of N14.4million out of N186.9million approved for year 2017.

The total health budget for the state is N24.8billion comprising of N10.490 billion capital and N14.380billion recurrent budget.
