An analysis released by the conference secretariat yesterday showed that about 45 per cent of the delegates wanted to serve on four critical committees out of the 20 available.
The four committees are those on devolution of power, political restructuring, politics and governance, party and election matters and national security.
The secretariat explained that it was due to this situation that led to redistribution of delegates into other committees since all the committees must have members.
It said that in spite of the hue about religion, not up to 18 delegates indicated interest in the committee. Both Muslim and Christian groups have six representatives each at the conference.
The conference was engulfed in crisis a day after it was inaugurated by President Jonathan over mode of prayer, places of worship, among other religious-inclined issues.
Yesterday delegates raised objections on various issues ranging from the constitution of the committee membership, why they were not consulted before the changes were made and why certain people headed committees and other did not.
