A retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Ambrose Aisabor, on Friday said only justice would end the endless killings in Plateau State and its environs.
In a chat with Daily Trust on Saturday, the security expert who condemned the recent upsurge in killings in Plateau urged the state government to muster the political will to implement recommendations of several panels and commissions of enquiry on Plateau crises.

He said, “Contrary to what many Nigerians are made to believe that the crisis in Plateau State is the handiwork of criminal gangs, the problem has its roots in ethnic and religious divides in the state.
“Another contributory factor fueling the endless crisis in the state is injustice. For many years in Plateau State, there have been many crises. At the end of each crisis, panels of enquiry are set up and white paper issued. There has been no political will to implement the recommendations of these commissions. The state government should be courageous enough to ensure there is justice in Plateau State.”
Similarly, a socio-cultural organisation in Nigeria, Yoruba Welfare Group (YWG), has called on the federal government and the Inspector General of Police to ensure all those involved in the killing of innocent people in Jos, Plateau state were brought to book.
It also condemned the recent killing of 22 Muslims from Ondo State who were returning from Bauchi, describing it as barbaric.
