President Bola Tinubu’s former campaign spokesman in the south east, Dr Josef Onoh, has made encomium on the former minister for Information and former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa state, Labaran Maku, on his conferment of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

President Tinubu had on June 12 democracy day celebration conferred National Honours on some Nigerians, including Maku who was awarded Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

Extending goodwill message to the former Minister, Onoh said that it was a significant achievement and a well-deserved conferment by President Tinubu, in recognition of Maku’s outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey.

Onoh described Maku’s dedication to public service both as a former Minister and as a Deputy Governor as exemplary leadership, citing his initiatives such as the advocacy for good governance through the Good Governance Tour, which Onoh said left an indelible mark on Nigera’s democracy.

“This prestigious honour is a testament to your unwavering commitment to fostering accountability, transparency, and citizen engagement in Nigeria’s democratic process. Your efforts have inspired many and strengthened the fabric of our nation.”
