A member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in Osun State, Kabiru Oyeduntan, was arrested by police yesterday with body parts of a 20-year-old lady that he allegedly slaughtered for rituals.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Wale Olokode, paraded the 40-year-old suspect with the body of the lady which he cut into pieces.
The CP said the suspect who hails from Moninun compound Ikoyi was arrested at Quarry area of Apomu, upon credible information and intelligence led policing.
Olokode said “We heard that some ritualists beheaded an unknown lady in Apomu. A team of police operatives in collaboration with the local security outfits swiftly moved into action and arrested one Kabiru Oyeduntan with the butchered body parts of a lady of about 20 years of age.”
The suspect however told the police it was his friend that was responsible for the action.
“My friend brought the lady to my room. I thought he only wanted to have sex with her. I stayed outside when they were having sex in my room. Thereafter, I went inside and saw my friend strangulating the lady. My friend told me that he wanted to use her for money ritual and promised that he will give me money. My friend escaped but I was caught,” he said.
The commissioner of police said the suspect would be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
