The senator representing Imo West, Rochas Okorocha, has pleaded with Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State to immediately order the reopening of the Cargo airport to ease the problems created by the Federal Government’s move to close Enugu Airport for renovation works.
Okorocha, in a statement signed by the Special Adviser, Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, said well-meaning Imo citizens should advise Governor Ihedioha to open the Imo International Cargo Airport which he built and was commissioned by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The senator, who is the immediate past governor of the state, said he built the International Cargo Airport to open Imo State for business to the rest of the world.
He said the incumbent governor should consider the suggestion since the money used to finance the project belonged Imo people.
Okorocha said what was left was to pen the venture for business as all necessary facilities had been provided.
