Open letter to Gov. El-Rufai

Sir, within the shortest period of time, the good people of Kaduna State have started witnessing positive changes as articulated in your vision and mission to make the state great again. This indeed is a beautiful beginning.
While appreciating your giant strides and commitments to make the state great again, it has become pertinent to draw your attention to some important happenings that have been occurring in appointing commissioners and other political appointments in Kubau local government area.
The contribution of your coordinator during the last elections was zero considering the sacrifice all your coordinators made toward your victory. It will be suicidal, a plunder or outright misrepresentation to give such a person any appointment.
As you know in politics people who contributed in the struggle and the success of a party are those who are expected to be considered when sharing appointments and projects in various parts of the state. As party loyalists, this is what we are expecting from your government, but to our great surprise the information reaching us shows that a single individual was given the mandate to nominate who will represent Kubau local government area in the state executive council. We are totally against that move. It is better to even bring a street garbage collector to be our leader who is highly recognised within the society than the person in question.
Sir, you may want to know that the fellow in question, in any ministry where he served, history has shown that he was a destroyer rather than a builder. For instance, since the fellow joined a federal agency in the early 90s, he has never come to our area for more than five times, for whatever reason.
The fellow in question has been a head of a federal agency and permanent secretary in some federal ministries which he had run down. We have it on authority that he has a case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFFC). We are pointing all these out to you just in case you do not have these vital dossiers on the man.
For anybody to be stakeholder in a given organisation, he or she must participate in the activities of that organisation.  We don’t know him and he did not participate in the process of merger, primaries, and general election! He has never been to any part of this local government area in the past 15 years either for condolence greetings talk less of political activities.
He has spent not less than 30 years without passing a night in the local government area. He did not canvass any support for our dear party in any way. Having said these, he has no relationship with the people of Kubau politically or otherwise.
If care is not taken in carrying the people along, there is going to be gross political miscalculation and will end up yielding a negative result. We anticipate your usual understanding and cooperation.
Alhaji Sani Abubakar Banki, Kubau local government area, Kaduna State
