I am writing as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to members of the National Assembly to please help amend the Electoral Act to see to it that local government elections are henceforth conducted by Independent National Electoral Commission.
In that way we the citizens can elect those to represent us as chairmen and councillors thereby giving the people the power to elect those who represent them at the grassroots.
We the citizens are tired of governors imposing their stooges and thugs on us as chairmen and councillors. If this is done, it will help bring development faster to the grassroots to Nigeria.
It would allow for vibrant opposition politics across the 774 LGAs of Nigeria thereby allowing for more people to be interested in leadership at the grassroots. We would be very grateful if you do this for us at the grassroots; this big and patriotic favour.
Thank you in anticipation to fulfilling our request.
