Hon. Bashar Aliyu Sambauna, one-time candidate of Ungogo/Minjibir Federal Constituency under the PDP platform, has called on opposition parties, civil society organizations, and all patriots to put aside differences and join forces towards saving the nation from its current crisis.

In a statement, Sambauna emphasized that the era of division and political competition is over, saying Nigeria is at a critical juncture where something must be done to restore hope and stability.

“We must look to ourselves and say: What leadership do we really need? What policies will rekindle hope and build a nation on the brink? What vision will pull us out of the storm and bring us to a better horizon?” he implored.

Nigeria has been grappling with unprecedented economic troubles, rising insecurity, and breakdown of order.

“The nation is plunging further into anarchy: increasing insecurity, a faltering economy, and wholesale disintegration of order. Nigerians are hungry, fearful, and anxious about what the future holds. The gravity of the moment requires us to put self-interest behind us and bury party differences. This isn’t politics.

“Now, more than ever, it’s crucial for the opposition parties to come together with a shared goal: to end the Tinubu administration and pave the way for a better, more secure Nigeria. We’ve seen a similar coalition succeed before. It wasn’t an easy path, but it taught us a valuable lesson—when people unite with a clear purpose, change isn’t just possible; it’s inevitable,” he noted.

Sambauna stated that his appeal is not political ambition but a defense of the future of democracy and preventing Nigerians from enduring any longer.

He warned that if nothing is done, there is the risk of irreparable damage.

“This is a question of the future of our country—of the survival of democracy. We might lose all that we have fought for if we just do nothing. And if we do nothing, then history will judge us,” he warned.

“This is not a call to anarchy or violence. Rather, it’s a call for vision, for unity, and for courage. It’s time to strategize, to organize, and to bring our country back from the edge of collapse,” he said.
