The security taskforce maintaining peace in Plateau State, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), yesterday, paraded 26 suspects for various offences including illegal possession of firearms and cultism.

Daily Trust reports that 11 of the suspects, including an 11-year-old, were paraded for allegedly being cultists while the remaining 15 were allegedly found to be in possession of illegal firearms including AK47 rifles and a locally made sub-machine gun.

While parading the suspects before the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General John Agim, who was on a tour of the operation, the Chief of Staff to OPSH, Brigadier General Mohammed Bello, said though investigation was ongoing, the cultists have given useful information to the command and agreed to renounce their activities.

However, one of the paraded suspects reportedly found in possession of illegal weapons, James Eliesha who is from Barkin Ladi said he mistakenly shot his leg with the AK47 which he found in 2013 after an attack on his village.
