The Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) has reiterated its commitment to remove all criminal gangs in Plateau State and urged communities and religious organisations to distance themselves from such criminals.  

The multi-security taskforce charged with maintaining law and order in Plateau State was clarifying its recent military operation on cattle rustlers around Fan area of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state amid accusations by certain community groups that the area was under siege by security men.  

A statement signed by OPSH Media and Information Officer, Major Adam Umar, on behalf of the Commander, Major General Anthony Atolagbe, said the deployment of security men was only targeted at criminals and not against any community or organisation and urged the communities and organisations to feel free to conduct their daily activities while extending necessary cooperation to security agencies in order to rid their localities of criminals.

“The OPSH wishes to reiterate its readiness to respond to any act of breach of security or criminality which is capable of creating insecurity and instability in the state,” the statement read.
