The Force Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), Major General Moses Gara, has hosted a Christmas luncheon in honor of the troops of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Intervention Battalion XI/Sector 1 at Tatyough, Makurdi, Benue State.

Our correspondent reports that the event was organized to appreciate the gallantry, dedication, and sacrifices of troops safeguarding lives, protecting critical assets, and sustaining peace across the Joint Operations Area.

The luncheon was also extended to OPWS personnel receiving treatment at the 161 Nigerian Air Force Hospital and the 401 Brigade Medical Centre in Makurdi.

While presenting the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Christmas goodwill message, Major General Gara conveyed warm felicitations from the Service Chiefs and heads of security agencies to personnel serving under OPWS.

In the message, the CDS described Christmas as a season of love, sacrifice, hope, and renewal, urging officers and men to reflect on their shared humanity and collective responsibility to preserve peace, unity, and national progress.

The CDS expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their resilience, patriotism, and sustained support for the Armed Forces, noting that public trust and cooperation are vital to achieving lasting peace and security.
