National Oracle Magazine has given the wife of Kebbi State governor, Hajiya Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu an excellence award for her humanitarian services.
Chairman National Oracle magazine, Mr. Blesssing Afekade Agbomhere said that National Oracle awards were created to ensure good governance and to single out pre-eminent individuals to reward and celebrate them for their immeasurable contributions to nation building and the survival of our frail democracy.
He said that the award was to recognize Dr. Zainab`s modest contributions to humanity and to reassure her that the Nigerian people are watchful and appreciative of her laudable efforts.
Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu is a Pediatric Consultant, child’s right advocate and ardent anti cancer campaigner. Dr Zainab Bagudu obtained an MBBS (bachelor of medicine) from the prestigious Ahmaudu Bello University Zaria. She then proceeded to the United Kingdom for specialist training in Peadiatrics and Neonatology, which lasted for nine years. Amongst others she obtained a Masters in Paediatrics, Diploma in Tropical Child Health and membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. Upon completion of her training she returned to Nigeria in 2002 to set up and head the Paediatric Unit of Garki Hospital under a new PPP scheme with the FCT. She is currently serving on the ministerial committee to build world class diagnostic centres in Nigeria.
Her marriage to Senator Abubakar Bagudu, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State is blessed with children.
