The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr Garba Abari has raised concerns over the high rate of drug abuse and indiscipline amongst youth, which he said was harmful to the country.

Mr Abari raised this viewpoint recently in Abuja at a sensitisation programme on ethics and national core values for students in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Nasarawa state.

The NOA boss who was represented by the Director, Special Duties, Priscilla Gondoalor urged Nigerians especially youth to be patriotic and hardworking for the progress of Nigeria.

The area Commander of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for Nasarawa State, Mr Saidu Salihu at the event said over 50 per cent of crimes in the society today are done by drugs addicts.

He however appealed to the students to be studious and grow to become law-abiding citizens.
