Oruru and the case of Kano 9

The Nigerian media, NGOs, the human right organizations, CAN, the Islamic leaders are all silent about the case of the innocent children of 2 to 10 years who were abducted, transported and sold. These children were forcefully converted to Christianity, renamed with Igbo names without their consent.

Remember what took place when one Kura boy popularly called Yellow, fell in love with one Ese Oruru from Delta State?

The Nigerian media and all the social organizations of the South were out with their swords drawn and ready for war against what they saw as Islamization. Now the Christianization of Northern youths, who were forcefully taken away from their patents, culture, languages and religious values is not attracting the same response. NIREC didn’t call for emergency session to look for a way out, how to recover the remaining children and reunite them with their families or how to bring the culprits to book and stop such occurrence in the future.

Remember the incidents of the children of the Northeast, who were displaced due to the ongoing insurgency? Some Of them were taken to the South by Christian organizations and converted to Christianity. Nobody did anything. Only one or two articles appeared in a newspaper and that is all. This time around the case is the same. People are concentrating on none issues such as PMB’s fake marriage, Aisha Buhari and how to deny Buhari’s relatives their right to privacy.

Enough is enough. Let the Nigerian leadership fight hate.
