Oscar-Winning lyricist, Marilyn Bergman, who worked with her husband, Alan Bergman, to win three Academy Awards has died at 93.

Bergman won three Academy Awards and is described as one of the most revered writing tandems in the annals of movie music history.

According to the family Rep, Ken Sunshine, she died peacefully early Saturday morning in her Los Angeles home, HollywoodReporters.com states.

She was said to have died of respiratory failure (non-COVID-19 related).

With her husband, the songwriting duo won Academy Awards for the best original songs, “The way we were” shared with Marvin Hamlisch from 1973 Barbra Streisand film of that name and “Windmills of the mind” shared with Michel Legrand from the Thomas crown affairs in 1968 among others.

Bergman was among the ten women that founded the Hollywood Women’s Political Committee, which raised millions of dollars for Democratic candidates and was described as the “most powerful entertainment group in politics.”

She is survived by her Husband Alan Bergman; daughter, Julie Bergman sender; son-in-law, Ilan Azoulai; and granddaughter Emily sender.
