Former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has openly criticized Edo First Lady, Betsy Obaseki, following remarks she made during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign flag-off.

During the event, Betsy Obaseki highlighted that Asue Ighodalo, the PDP governorship candidate, was the only contender with a wife, positioning this as a significant reason for women in the state to support his candidacy.

She emphasized the presence of Mrs. Ifeyinwa Ighodalo, Asue’s wife, as a symbol of stability and support for the women of Edo State.

In response, Oshiomhole, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), countered by emphasizing that the APC candidate, Monday Okpebholo, is not only married but is also deeply committed to his family’s welfare.

He highlighted that Okpebholo’s children, who include a lawyer and a medical doctor, have been actively participating in the campaign, alongside their mother, who has been a visible presence at various campaign events across the state.

This exchange underscores the escalating tensions between the PDP and APC as the Edo State governorship election approaches.
