Among the Super Eagles on the radar of top European clubs are Victor Osimhen, Frank Onyedika, Tolu Arokadare, Ademola Lookman, Semi Ajayi and few others.

These outstanding Super Eagles are not only on the radar of European clubs – it is also a season to determine their future considering increase in their wages, more playing time and spaces in top leagues, especially in the English top-flight.

Victor Osimhen 

The former African Footballer of the Year and Super Eagles ‘mask-wearing’ dare-devil attacker, has continued with his stellar performances at Galatasaray where he played on loan from Napoli, netting 37 goals in 41 games.

European Clubs seeking for Osimhen’s goal-filled boots include Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool with the ‘Blues’ appearing to be the frontrunner in the race to bring the Nigerian marksman to Stamford Bridge at the £63.5m release clause Napoli are demanding.

However, amidst the speculation of Osimhen’s move to England, there has been a tempting ‘Arab money’ offer from Saudi clubs offering blank cheques.

Oshimen has only one year left on his contract at Napoli, ruling out the possibility of a return to the Serie A champions, putting the striker’s future swimming in the pool of multiple decisions to determine his future.

He remains a formidable figure who fired Napoli to their first title in over 32 years. Osimhen emerged as Serie A’s player of the year for 2023, finished eighth in that year’s Ballon d’Or and won African Best Player of the Year Award 2024.

 

Ademola Lookman

The torchlights of suitors have been beaming on the reigning African best player who has enjoyed a blistering performance in his last three seasons at Atalanta.

Liverpool and Arsenal appeared to be the potential buyers due to recent talks about a potential summer swoop for him, setting the possibility of his return to England Premier League (EPL) after coming through the ranks at Charlton Athletic and also playing for Everton, Fulham and Leicester.

The possibility of Lookman’s exit gained momentum recently when he was publicly criticized by Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

Other admirers interested in the services of the Super Eagles player include Manchester United, Chelsea, and Juventus but reports claimed that Atalanta is looking for a fee between $63million and $68million for the attacking winger.

He has also emerged as a potential transfer target for Barcelona, as the Spanish giants continue their search for a left winger this summer.

 

Ola Aina

The possibility of a move for Super Eagles skillful defender Ola Aina to another club is palpable as the end of his contract with Nottingham Forest draws near.

The full-back who joined Forest on a one-year deal in July 2023 after stints with Torino, Fulham, and Chelsea has been linked with potential move to Manchester City and Liverpool. 

Aina has been impressive with his performance since joining the Forest, contributing immensely to the greatly improved performance of the club in the 2025 season as they finished in 7th position, earning for themselves a Europa League ticket.

 

Frank Onyedika

The Club Brugge combative defensive midfielder, has been on the radar of suitors, especially from the English top-flight clubs.

Clubs scrambling for the signatures of the midfielder are Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, signalling his potential move to England.

Undoubtedly, the potential departure of Onyedika has been lingering over the past two summers as he has been linked with a couple of clubs interested in signing him.

Onyedika who displayed sterling performance in Belgian top-flight, UEFA Champions League and the national team, which have combined to raise his market value to around £25.6m, a fee affordable for both Leeds and West Ham. 

He is also linked with clubs in Turkey and Spain.

 

Tolu Arokadare

The Super Eagles striker had a stellar performance during the last season, netting 23 goals and providing seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions to take home the Ebony Shoes Award in Belgium.

Arokodare’s performance has attracted interest from top clubs like Manchester United, Fenerbahce, Borussia Dortmund and Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

However amidst the transfer season, his Belgian Jupiler Pro League club Genk opened their pre-season camp on Friday, June 20 as announced on the club’s official website on Tuesday. 

 

Moses Simon

Super Eagles winger Moses Simon will don a new jersey in the new football season as his club FC Nantes have reportedly agreed to close the deal with Paris FC on a €7 million transfer.

The transfer marked to be Paris FC first signing in the Ligue 1 was agreed to last for 30 months, precisely 2028.

The transfer described as juicy is said to be twice what the winger was earning at his previous club, opening to a new challenge for him with the club that is debuting in the French top-flight league in the 2025/2025 season.

Paris FC, owned by one of the wealthiest families in Europe, hope to become one of the top clubs in France before long and have demonstrated this with the bold move to sign Moses Simon.

Simon spent six seasons with the Canaries, including the last which saw him finishing the season with 8 goals and 10 assists. The Nigerian international (81 caps, 10 goals) will therefore have a second experience in France with a new club.

 

Semi Ajayi

The bell of transfer is ringing in the ears of Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi with his links with Hull City, opening a new door for him after suffering a setback from injury last season.

The injury sidelined him for months which met him at the end of his contract with West Bromwich Albion which was not renewed.

According to The Hull Daily Mail, it reported that Ajayi is “expected to be another arrival in the near future” for ‘The Tigers’ as they look to rebuild under new manager Sergej Jakirovic.

He made 170 appearances for West Brom including 33 in the Premier League during the 2020/2021 season.
