The Vice President, who was escorted by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan, visited the state along with his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo.
Our correspondent observed that security men were deployed across major parts of Ibadan.
Although, the visit was described as a private one, but the vice president was received at the Alakia Airport in Ibadan before they moved to the private residence of Alaafin at Jericho in Ibadan.
It was gathered that the Oyo State Deputy Governor did not attend the meeting between Alaafin and the vice president. But he later escorted the vice president back to the airport where they both had a brief discussion before the VP’s departure.
The details of the meeting were not disclosed by any of the parties as they all declined audience with the press.
