Osinbajo, Malami preach unity at opening of NBA headquarters

The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), at the commissioning of the ultra-modern headquarters of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Abuja, charged lawyers on unity of purpose.
Also, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN),  charged lawyers to keep up the standard recorded in the just concluded national election of the association.
Speaking at the ceremony on Friday, Osinbajo said the power of unity was manifest in the NBA edifice which was similar to that in the Bible when the Jews embarked on the construction of the Biblical ‘Tower of Babel’.
He described the building as one of the most important structures in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), adding that it showed the relevance of the association in the country.
In his message, Malami praised the leadership of the NBA for the feat recorded in the just concluded election, especially the use of e-voting.
Also speaking, the outgoing President of NBA, Mr. Augustine Alegeh (SAN) expressed fulfillment at the completion of the 10-storey building, valued at N2.5 billion,  which was commenced by his predecessor, Okey Wali (SAN).
He said the fifth floor of the building was named after Rivers State because of the contributions of Governor Nyesom Wike in the project, while a Hall of Fame in the building will immortalize interested former NBA presidents who agree to pay N10 million each.
Other lawyers who are public office holders in attendance include Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and governors of Sokoto and Rivers state, Aminu Tambuwal and Nyeson Wike.
