Osinbajo, Malami to attend int’l arbitration summit in Abuja

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) are both expected at the opening of an international arbitration conference in Abuja. 

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and the Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Okechukwu Enelamah are also expected among the speakers at the event. 

The programme, which is being organized by the International Dispute Resolution Institute (IDRI) between June 14 and 15, will host one of the biggest gatherings of experts on international arbitration, arbitration, mediation and negotiation. 

The General Secretary of the United Nations Commission on Trade Law (UNCITRAL), Anna Joublin-Bret is expected at the programme alongside other experts such as: Prof David Butler of the University of South Africa; Prof John Faris of the University of South Africa and Prof Walid Ben Hamida of the University of Paris, France.  

The programme will commemorate 50 years of UNCITRAL and 60th anniversary of the New York Convention with the theme: ‘Contributions of United Nations and UNCITRAL in International Trade Law Harmonisation and Dispute Settlement.’
