Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Engr Babachir David Lawal as well as Edo, Lagos and Jigawa governors are expected to attend the Technology in Government summit in Abuja this week.
The event would also bring together other top government functionaries and CEOs of private companies, according to the organisers of the summit, the Nigeria Information Technology Professionals in Civil and Public Services (NITPCS).
NITPCS President, Mr Raphael Omosola told Daily Trust that the event would deliberate extensively on Treasury Single Account (TSA) and the roles of civil and public servants towards its successful implementation.
He said other topics to be discussed by experts at the summit include: Security and protection of key national information infrastructures, developing smart government, enabling the strategic use of ICT to deliver on policy and effective governance, among others.
“Governments all over the world are increasingly becoming smart and seeking for better and more efficient ways to engage with citizens. IT professionals within the governments are the critical enablers for such change to happen”, the NITPCS president said.
