The Osun State government has distributed instructional materials worth N55 million to elementary and middle schools in the state for the next session.
Also, Yoruba talking pens and story books were distributed for the use of pupils during the event which took place at the SUBEB warehouse in Osogbo.
The Executive Chairman of the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Prince Felix Awofisayo, said the instructional materials would aid teaching and learning in schools.
He commended the state governor, Abeni Rauf Aregbesola, for the construction of 150 new schools and the provision of free meals, school uniforms and textbooks for pupils.
Also speaking at the occasion, the SUBEB Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, said government interventions have expanded access and ensured equity in education opportunities for children in the state.
