Osun holds climate change workshop

The Osun state government, in partnership with the International Climate Change Development Initiative Africa and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Nigeria, has held a one-day climate change workshop.

The workshop, held in Osogbo, the state capital, focused on empowering communities through inclusive and just transitions.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, represented by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, reiterated his administration’s commitment to establishing strong partnership with stakeholders on climate change.

“We’re partnering with NCC, and also in touch with the Federal Ministry of Environment to let them know our aims. We want to be the first sub national entity that is playing the leading role of combating climate change crisis. We’re also in touch with other stakeholders and NGO”, Adeleke said.
