A security man employed by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, as private guard has shot a 15-year-old boy dead inside the palace in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

The detail of what prompted the palace guard, identified as Abubakar Suleiman, to kill the boy could not be ascertained as at the time of filling this report.

However, when our reporter visited the palace, women and children were seen crying and palace chiefs were discussing the matter while no one was ready to talk to journalists.

It was gathered that the victim, who was identified as Imole, was rushed to hospital by the Osun State Ambulance Service paramedics where he died.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect has since been arrested.
