The Chief of Staff to the governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, who represented Governor Aregbesola at the seminar said all the veterinary officers in the state Ministry of Agriculture have been deployed to man the control posts in and around the state.
He said when the disease became epidemic in Nigeria in the year 2006, there was no single case of bird flu in Osun State, saying the state government has approved the purchase of chemicals to fumigate all farms in the state.
Speaking earlier, the Managing Director of Tuns Farms Limited,
Engineer Olalekan Badmus, advised all the poultry farmers in the state to take bio security of their farms as a priority in order not to be affected by the disease.
