Olasupo Abideen emerged the new president after an election process that was conducted by a five-man electoral body and led by its chairman, Mr. Ishola Abdul-Rahman.
The president who spoke on behalf of the newly elected executives, said he was ready to reform the union with the provision of their manifesto which proposed innovation, continuity and accountability of each leader’s activities.
He pointed out that the new executives would bear in mind their proposed programmes while carrying out their duties. The programme content includes organizing fresher’s oratory contest, maintenance of online presence by updating of website and entrepreneurship summit among others.
While urging the students to make their own positive contributions towards the development of Osun State and Nigeria at large, he pointed out that any nonchalant attitude by the executives would not be tolerated as appropriate measures would be applied to sanction any leader found wanting.
“We will never desist to introduce the production of magazine and excursion activities for the year which will come with fascinating social package to make this tenure one of the best if not the best,” Abideen said.
The outgoing president of the union, Mr Lamidi Tajudeen, in his handover address charged the newly elected executives to be hardworking, enthusiastic and meticulous as that is the only tactic to attain their objectives.
