Osun town gets new oba

 

The kingmakers of Ekoende town in Ifelodun LGA of Osun State have selected Prince Adekunle AbdulWaheed Babatunde as the Oba-elect of Ekoende land.

The decision of the kingmakers was announced after a selection process which involved evaluation of his qualifications, experience and commitment to the betterment of Ekoende land.

The oba-elect is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) and has an exceptional track record in both professional and community service.

The head of the kingmakers said, “His commitment to preserving our cultural heritage, coupled with his vision for a prosperous Ekoende, made him the unanimous choice for the position of the Oba of Ekoende.

“As the Oba-elect of Ekoende, Alhaji Adekunle Abduwaheed Bamidele will assume his role as the custodian of our community’s cultural heritage, a unifying figure among our people, and a liaison between the community and the government.

“We are confident that his wisdom, fairness and judiciousness will guide us towards sustainable development and the overall welfare of our beloved community.’’
