The Governing Council of Osun State University, Osogbo has approved N300 million as balance of the 2014/2015 earned allowance for striking non-teaching staff.
The Registrar, Alhaji Gafar Shittu, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the council’s meeting. He said the council would satisfy the demand of the workers and approved N300 million to be paid in parts; at N10 million per month effective from 30th April, 2018.
He called on all non-teaching staff to cancel the strike action before April 10 or face a “no-work-no pay” rule.
In his reaction, chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Mr Isaiah Fayemi, said the Joint Action Committee (JAC) had suspended the strike for two weeks because the State House Assembly had promised to resolve the conflict.
