Observers monitoring the ongoing gubernatorial elections in Osun state have given thumbs up to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a timely and efficient accreditation process.
Executive Director of the Center for Peace building and Socio-Economic Resources Development (CePSERD) Mr. Ayokunle Fagbemi who spoke to Daily Trust on phone said from all reports at his disposal, the accreditation process has been hitch- free so far.
“It’s been impressive so far, the accreditation exercise. INEC deployed their staff and materials as early as scheduled and some areas where even able to conclude accreditation before 12 noon. The security in each polling unit is also commendable. No case of intimidation or any form of harassment,” he said.
Mr. Fagbemi said the military has also restricted its activities to the outskirts of the state.
