The medal table released at the close of the tournament showed that Gboko Local Government came 2nd with 10 gold, 12 silver and 23 bronze with Ogbadibo Local Government placing 3rd with 7 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze medals; Ushongo Local Government came 4th on the list with 5 gold, 6 silver while logo and Ukum came 5th and 6th with 5 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze and 4 golds, 3 silver and 2 bronze respectively.

Other Local Government Councils that won medals are Vandeikya with 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze, Oju, Okpokwu, Katsina – Ala, Kwande, Konshisha, Gwer, Apa, Agatu and Gboko while Guma, Gwer – West, Makurdi, Obi and Tarka Locl Government Areas were absent at the one week exercise.

Declaring the event closed, the Youth and Sports Commissioner, Dr. Jacob Omenka said Sports served as a means of economic empowerment as it contribute to the physical and mental ability of competitors

According to the Commissioner, talents discovered at the tournament will be invited to represent the state at the National Sports Festival coming up in Port Harcourt, the River State Capital later in the year.

He charged the Ministry of Education to sustain the collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to reintroduce intra and inter schools sports and called on corporate, individuals to partner with government to enhance sports developments in the State.

In his remark, the Chairman of Okpokwu Local Government, Mr. Godwin Adah described sports as a key for the promotion of unity and charged local governments that show poor outing to work harder to improve on the medals table at future competitions.
