One of the victims of a recent kidnapping incident in Kwara State, Alhaji Tunde Buhari, has narrated their ordeal while in the den of their abductors.

Buhari, an Islamic cleric and the Chairman of Oluwalose community, told City & Crime that, “About six of them came to my house around 1am and pulled down the door. I resisted them for over an hour despite all of them having guns. One of them later used a heavy stick on me before they were able to overpower and kidnap me.”

The cleric, who has a madrasah where he teaches the Qur’an to children, said he was kidnapped alongside a neighbour, Ridwanullahi, adding that they were made to trek for over three hours inside a forest.

He explained that, “They beat us with sticks and subjected us to very terrible conditions with our hands and legs tied like animals, without food and water for three days. I untied myself while they were sleeping and decided to escape, but Riwanullahi was afraid they would shoot us because they surrounded us with dry leaves that would make sound if we stepped on them.
