The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has alleged the condition of the educational system in Yobe State is very poor.

The party also lambasted the State Government over its “failure to address the prolonged challenges of the sector in the State.

The Leader of the Coalition of Opposition Forces of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Jawa, stated this while briefing newsmen in Damaturu, State capital of Yobe.

He said Yobe’s public education system is in ruins, as some children were denied to have a bright future, adding that the system is worse than it was in the 1950s.

He said many public schools lacked sufficient teachers, teaching and learning materials, saying several classes are in decay.

According to him, thousands of Yobeans have been displaced from their homes while people in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) live in dire conditions.

He further said many Yobeans in IDP camps have returned beggars in their own land, which he described as a heartbreaking consequence of failed leadership.

He however called on the citizens of Yobe and across Nigeria citizens to support ADC’s movement to restore dignity to leadership and rebuild the hope for bright future.

“In response to these failures, our coalition-under the African Democratic Congress (ADC)-is committed to building a new political culture rooted in fairness, inclusion, merit and accountability.

“We call on all well-meaning citizens of Yobe and across Nigeria young and old, men and women to rally behind this movement. Together, we can restore dignity to leadership and rebuild the hope of our people.”
