He told Feverpitch yesterday that his team will not only reach the finals of the oldest competition in the country but also lift the prestigious trophy for the second time.

Iorfa said Lobi Stars have proved to all critics that its performance in this year’s Nigeria Premier League is not a fluke.

He said before now, most people who had refused to see anything good in Lobi Stars said the Makurdi team does not deserve to be where it is at the moment in the NPL.

However, the former international said there will be no complacency because his target of a continental ticket this season is not negotiable.

The former Queens Park Rangers of England star said in as much as he would not like to sound boastful, he does not see Sharks stopping his team from progressing to the semi-finals of the Federation Cup.

“We are battle ready. We are not going to stop until we lay our hand on the trophy. Like I keep telling everybody, our destination is Teslim Balogun stadium. We would not only play in the finals but lift the trophy for the second time.

“Those who felt our performance this season is accidental should know that we are achieving results based on hard work and determination. I am sure they now know better”.

Iorfa also expressed satisfaction with the level of security in Bauchi as he said it has surpassed his expectations.

He said those who blew the security situation in the state out of proportion are simply mischief makers who wanted to deny the football loving people of Bauchi State Federation Cup action.

“I am impressed with the security situation in Bauchi. I have not seen this kind of security even at NPL matches. Those who made so much noise about the choice of Bauchi as venue were out to deny the fans in the state opportunity to watch good football”.

He said Lobi was not seeded during the draws but some people are making it to appear as if it was the decision of the club to be in Bauchi.

“We did not lobby to come to Bauchi. Lobi was not seeded. Therefore it is the work of God that we were sent to Bauchi where our fan base is really huge”.

Iorfa therefore called on the teeming fans of Lobi to come out in large numbers to cheer their darling team to victory over Sharks.

“We are very much at home in Bauchi and I want to urge the fans to come out as they have been doing to give us all the support we need to win our quarter-final match against Sharks”, he demanded.
