A 21-year-old Nigerian woman, Miss Irhobisa Lawrence Orhumnzie, has said her trafficker (Madam) had deceived her she was taking her to Dubai for prostitution rather than Mali where she had found herself.
Orhumnzie was among 109 Nigerians stranded in Mali since the outbreak of the COVID 19 pandemic but recently assisted by the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) to return to home.

The returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 3.15am on Monday.
Orhumnzie disclosed that the trafficker took her and about 24 other ladies out of Nigeria about six months ago, with them hoping they were headed to Dubai.
“We took off from Lagos and crossed over to Cotonou, Benin Republic and Togo, from where we went to Mali.
“But as we entered Bamako, the Malian police arrested our Madam and all of us. They asked us if we were interested in going back to Nigeria. We all said yes.
“From there, we were taken to the Nigerian embassy in Mali. The coronavirus pandemic did not, however, allow the embassy to send us back to Nigeria until the IOM came to our rescue.
