Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has dismissed speculations of a strained relationship between him and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, insisting that they maintain a cordial working relationship built on mutual trust and a shared commitment to the development of the state.
Speaking during the distribution of 60,000 bags of fertiliser to farmers under the “Renewed Hope Fertiliser Distribution 2026” in Zaria on Saturday, Abbas urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and resist any attempt by political actors to sow discord within the party.
He cautioned party members against rumour-mongering, gossip, and actions capable of creating unnecessary divisions, stressing that political differences should not be allowed to undermine the collective interest of the party and the people of Kaduna State.
Daily Trust gathered that the political atmosphere in Zaria had become increasingly charged in recent weeks, particularly within the APC, following widespread speculation of a rift between Speaker Abbas Governor Uba Sani.

The rumours fuelled intense debates among party loyalists, with supporters of both leaders engaging in verbal exchanges and trading accusations, especially on social media platforms, raising concerns over the unity of the party in the Speaker’s political base.
The speculation persisted despite repeated public assurances by both leaders that they remained committed to working together for the progress of Kaduna State and the APC.
“There has never been a time when the Executive in Kaduna State and members of the National Assembly from the state enjoyed the level of cooperation and understanding we have today. The governor and I have a close relationship founded on trust and mutual respect,” the Speaker said.
He warned that those seeking to drive a wedge between him and Governor Uba Sani would not succeed, noting that their partnership was focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
“The office of the Speaker is not only a blessing to Zaria or Kaduna North Senatorial District; it is a blessing to Kaduna State as a whole. We are committed to serving every part of the state with fairness, justice and inclusiveness,” Abbas said.
The Speaker further appealed to APC members to conduct their political activities with maturity and without bitterness, urging them to prioritise peace, unity and the overall progress of the party over personal interests.
Abbas reaffirmed his commitment to implementing people-oriented programmes and projects that would improve livelihoods, strengthen agriculture and accelerate socio-economic development across his constituency and Kaduna State.
