The Vice Chancellor of Baze University, Professor Micheal Hodd, has said that to improve access to quality education, government must make progress in reducing the number of out-of-school children.
Prof. Hodd made the remark in an exclusive interview with Daily Trust in Abuja.
“The biggest challenge facing Nigeria’s education is the 10 million children who are not in the school, and getting these children into school should be top priority in the fight against poverty,” he said.
He said that most parents in Nigeria couldn’t give their children the required education due to poverty, adding that the university has awarded scholarships to encourage poor students get quality and sustainable education.
