Over 160 people survive Ebola around the world

Investigations indicate that in African countries where the virus is presence, like Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, an estimated 168 victims have reportedly survived the disease after periods of admission in restricted medical facilities and receiving close medical attention.
According to Health Minister Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, out of 14 Nigerians who tested positive to the disease, five have been successfully discharged from treatment centers, while three of them are still on admission with bright chances of survival. He said yesterday that the discharged patients have been put on psychosocial therapy to help them deal with getting back to life after the virus.
Also, two American health workers – Dr. Nancy Writebol and Dr. Kent Brantly – who contracted the virus while treating patients in Liberia have also recovered and have been discharged from Emory University Hospital after experimental drug Zmapp was administered on them.
In Sierra Leone, Doctors without Borders, a volunteer health organization involved in the treatment, said from about 500 cases of Ebola, 143 have been successfully treated and discharged.
In addition, out of multiple cases of people who tested positive, seven have survived.   According to Doctors without Borders, the infected persons recovered after close medical attention and have been discharged. In hard-hit Liberia, however, only Dr. Melvin Korkor, another medical doctor who unknowingly contracted the disease while attending to ailments of patients Sergeant Kollie town in Liberia, has recovered.
