The city of Abuja witnessed a convergence of purpose-driven women as the Women in Career Advancement Network (WICAN) hosted its landmark event — the Career Smart Woman Conference 2025.

The event welcomed over 200 women in career and business, alongside over 10 exhibiting companies, creating a vibrant atmosphere of learning, growth, networking, and empowerment.

More than just a conference, this gathering became a celebration of ambition, resilience, and collective power — bringing together women across industries, age groups, and career levels to explore what it truly means to be a “Career Smart Woman” in today’s world.

Themed “The Career Smart Woman”, the 2025 edition featured a dynamic lineup of thought leaders, professionals, and change-makers, all united in one goal — to equip women with the tools, mindset, and community to excel and thrive in their chosen fields.

From the powerful keynote delivered by NonyelumUjam, to the panel sessions moderated by the brilliant Keren Akano and Sharon Isaac, the day was packed with heartfelt wisdom, practical strategies, and deeply personal stories. In her address, Ujam urged participants to believe in the possibilities within them:

“The major goal is to let the younger generation of girls see that you can achieve anything you set your heart to do. No giving up on your dreams.”

Her message struck a chord across the room, setting the tone for a conference built not just on talk, but transformation.

With panelists including Uche Okoro, Oluchi Iseko, Ryasai Jones Nuhu, Vivian Savia, and Tobby Gusi, the conversations were rich, raw, and real. Topics ranged from workplace resilience, navigating toxic environments, owning your voice in male-dominated fields, to balancing ambition with emotional wellness.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged in networking sessions, participated in Q&A moments, explored career opportunities, and connected with mentors ready to guide them beyond the event.

As Founder and Convener Eniola Peters shared in her welcome remarks:

“We are not just building careers; we’re nurturing confidence, resilience, and legacy. This isn’t just about where we are now, it’s about who we are becoming — for ourselves and the women coming behind us.”

A key highlight of the day was the official unveiling of Eniola Peters’ newest book, “The Career Smart Woman” — a practical, story-rich guide to navigating real-life career challenges. With emotional readings, live book giveaways, and heartfelt testimonials, the launch further cemented the conference’s goal of leaving women with tools to thrive beyond the event.

Attendees also explored over 10 business exhibitions, featuring innovative female-led brands, professional services, and empowerment initiatives — creating a space for collaboration and visibility for women entrepreneurs.
