An Abuja based Non-Governmental Organisation, Global Initiative for Peace, Love & Care (GIPLC) has hosted its 19th annual Christmas/end-of-year party, bringing joy and hope to over 2,000 orphans, widows and the vulnerable children.
The event which took place on Sunday in Abuja at a warm, festive atmosphere, was made possible through contributions from various organizations, including Taleveras (Dickens Sanomi Foundation).
Among the highlights was the significant donation from the Better Life Program for the African Rural Woman (BLPARW), led by Her Excellency Aisha Babangida.
BLPARW provided an educational grant for 10 students, ensuring their education for the next five years. They also sponsored the distribution of exercise books to every child at the event, inspiring a love for learning. During the celebration, the GIPLC presented the 2024 PRIME-ED scholarships to 10 deserving children, marking a pivotal moment for their educational futures.

Aisha Babangida’s dedication to uplifting the community extended beyond education. Her foundation funded life-saving surgeries for 50 Nigerian children, giving them a chance for a healthier future.
In a partnership with GIPLC, she also renovated a mosque in Mpape, Abuja, which houses over 300 almajiri children, a testament to her commitment to vulnerable communities.
In a moment of heartfelt recognition, Aisha Babangida was presented with the prestigious GIPLC 2024 Heart of Gold Award for her exceptional contributions to humanity.
“This collaboration embodies compassion, generosity, and community development,” she said, visibly moved by the honor.
Abuja Metro reports that over N12 million was also raised for a child’s heart surgery at the event.
