The Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) has confirmed the arrest of a truck conveying over 4600 bottles of alcoholic drinks in Kano.

The Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa, said the truck was intercepted at Ibrahim Taiwo Road by operatives of the agency.

He said, “The truck with registration number FGE 407 XB was apprehended along the Ibrahim Taiwo Road around 4am by personnel of the Agency.

“Immediately the driver saw an officer of the Agency, he parked the truck and ran away.”

The Managing Director, Engr. Faisal Mahmud Kabir, said “Once investigation is completed, we will hand them over to Hisbah Board for necessary action.’’
