Over 60 percent of teachers in the Basic and Secondary schools in Sokoto state are unqualified just as the state government begins construction of 160 schools across the state.

Chairman of the Technical Committee on the State of Emergency in Education in the state, Prof. Riskuwa Shehu disclosed this at the opening of a one-day training of Field Officers for Pilot Survey on Schools today.

He added that more than half of the structures in schools across the state were dilapidated.
