The ladies from Owerri North defeated the female team from Ehime Mbano by 2-0 in the match played at Dan Anyiam stadium, Owerri.

Presenting the trophy to the team, the Deputy Governor, Sir Jude Agbaso commended the effort of the YSFON in the state for successful completion of the competition.

He expressed satisfaction over the level of maturity exhibited by the teams, adding that from what he had seen, the state can build a formidable female football team that would represent the state and do her proud in both the National Sports Festival and National Female League.

The Deputy Governor declared his continued support and commitment in promoting female football in the state as part of the ‘Rescue Mission Agenda’.
