Oxbridge Tutorial College, Lagos and Dublin International Foundation College (DFIC) had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at making the study of medicine accessible in the United Kingdom to Nigerian students.
Tagged: Medical Pathway II, the signing of the MoU was witnessed by the Irish Ambassador to Nigeria, Sean Hoy as well as delegation from both Oxbridge and DFIC.
The Irish Ambassador hailed the initiative behind the MoU, saying medicine being one of the topmost and sought-after courses in tertiary institutions should be made attractive to and the process of its admission, less-cumbersome.
Hoy further reiterated the support of the Embassy for the initiative, saying already, the Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria is already playing a leading role that would enhance the programme’s success.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of Oxbridge College, Dr (Mrs) Femi Ogunsanya said the management of Oxbridge College understands the burning desires of many Nigerian students to make a career in the medical profession and that it is one aspiration it is determined to help the students achieve.
Marketing Director of Northern Consortium United Kingdom (NCUK) Pierra Gerrard said being an educational charity organisation owned by 11 universities in northern UK, the foundation has in place £5,000 scholarship for any Nigerian student who succeeds in securing admission through the medical pathway II and is placed in any of the supporting universities.
